An ipod can function like an iPhone

Ipod are a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple and they were launched on October 23, 2001. There are so many products like the hard drive-based ipod Classic, the touch screen ipod Touch, the video-capable ipod music, and the compact ipod Shuffle. An ipod can function like an iPhone.ipod music store media on an internal hard drive, but some models use flash memory to enable their smaller size. Ipods can also serve as external data storage devices. Storage capacity varies by model. It has been stored more than 220,000,000 worldwide. The Apple Company began creating software for the growing market of personal digital devices. Apple's hardware engineering Chief Jon Rubinstein formed a team of engineers to design the ipod line, including hardware engineers Tony Fidel and Michael Due, and design engineer Jonathan Ive. Ipod was developed in less than one year. They announced it as a Mac-compatible product with a 5 GB hard drive that put "1,000 songs in your pocket."

The ipod can play several audio file formats including MP3, AAC/M4A, Protected AAC, AIFF, WAV, etc. The ipod Photo was introduced to display JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, and PNG image file formats. Games can b played in an Ipod. Games normally come in .jpg forms. Images can also be stored in ipod. Ipods are said to have short life-span and fragile hard drives but a 2005 survey conducted on the MacInTouch website found that the ipod music had an average failure rate of 13.7% and at the end they concluded that some models were more durable than others. Nowadays most of the youngsters are using Ipods. In Ipod the songs are transferred from iTunes software which is designed by Apple. ITunes is the only way to transfer music. Without iTunes the songs cannot be transferred to ipod.
